Personalized Name Plaque

Materials needed:

-Wooden craft shape-your choice
-Acrylic paints
-Foam brushes
-Glitter Mod Podge (optional)
-Ribbon
-Prima flowers
-buttons
-Contact paper-to create stencil
-Cricut-to cut stencil

Start by painting the whole plaque with your base color.
I used my cricut to cut out a stencil from the contact paper. I used the Simply Sweet cartridge for this stencil. Place the contact paper where you want it on the plaque and rub down the edges. Then go over the stencil with the base color. This allows you to get a crisp edge by sealing the stencil.

Next, paint over the stencil with your second color. This may take several coats to cover your base color. When the paint is dry, peel up the stencil. Give plenty of dry time because your paint may peel up too if it's not completely dry.

After removing the stencil, apply the glitter Mod Podge. I did two coats if this. I love the sparkle it gives. I got the glitter Mod Podge on clearance at Hobby Lobby for around $4.00!!

This is how it looks after two coats of the glitter Mod Podge!!! Love it!

Lastly, I added some Prima flowers and buttons to dress it up! Then hot glued the ribbon on the back for the hanger! I absolutely love making these! So easy! And they make great birthday gifts. If you have questions, just ask!!
I made 3 hairbow holders today too!! I will post those very soon!!
